Winter will come soon and people start looking to buy some new socks to wear not to catch cold and flu. Many of them of course will go to Wal-Mart, cause they will find there a good selection and nice fair prices. Since the period of economy crisis this place became a good decision for many americans.

A few months ago, i found in Wal-Mart a good and thick pair of socks to wear them around the house and i understood that those thick socks that they had in the shelves in Wal-Mart were actually produces in Pakistan.

I was really surprised but i started to think about such sudden experience. Lots of people have the stereotypes about this country. Usually in their minds they imagine Pakistan as a country where Al Qaeda is hiding and where Taliban is. But actually Pakistan is a huge country and their people always concerned in such questions as the economy development, inflation or employment. Their people push and develop economy to support needs of government as well.

More than 60% of the Pakistanis do not want the presence of the United States in their country for any reason including fighting with Talibanis, delivering aid to victims and many other things. But along with they welcome US dollars and are glad to export their goods and products to the United States of America. And they are very happy with a good sales results of their products in th USA.

The fact that Wal-Mart is carrying socks from Pakistan could become a nice model for peace between Pakistan and West world.

If Pakistani see that they are making money by delivering their goods to another countries, if they start living better and having a job by creation products for our country it will be very complicated for them to hate customer that creates demand on their goods and offers them a better living. Better living in all ways.

And this is something we need to talk about, cause i did not buy the Pakistani socks cause the Taliban today are killing the US troops and from one side it is not really fair to support that country with the money and make profit on their exported goods. I wanted to have time to think on this problem. But during the wars and conflict situation there are always two sides of the story – the country and nation. And sometimes being under the hard pressure of government nation is not guilty at all and regular people have to follow the policy of the country.

So i thought there is nothing bad if i go back to Wall-Mart to get that nice pair of thick socks made in Pakistan. Let’s make a peace!
