Einzige Might be Right March 18, 2010 ZippySez (New Orleans, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While flipping through this book at a major book retailer, I was struck dumb by a couple of passages. In Chapter Seven Zeller lists two companies as good examples of companies that consistently demonstrate "CORE VALUES." One is Nordstom's and the other is Disney. DISNEY? (For a quick, funny read buy yourself a copy of "Team Rodent: How Disney Devours the World," by Carl Hiaasen.)
Then, as if that wasn't wack enough, on the very next page he goes on to describe WALMART as his number one example of a company with a good "CORE PURPOSE." That unwavering Core Purpose being, naturally, according to Zeller, "to give ordinary folks the chance to buy the same things as rich people." Oh, so that's it. That explains all the Rolex watches and calf leather Gucci handbags I saw on isle 27B the other day while shopping for clothespins. Zeller's assessment of what represents the "Good" shook my confidence in his judgement, possibly his mental faculties, and therefore the veracity of his book. I put it back on the shelf.
For budding real estate agents ONLY February 19, 2010 John D. Hill (Mint Hill, NC) Bought for research into real estate investing based on the recommendations of amazon.com. It is a complete waste. Should be titled, "The ABCs of becoming a real esate agent." However, even in that capacity, it seems rather superficial loaded with simple advice rather than hard techniques.
Just Okay January 13, 2009 M. Cramer (Stafford, VA) I was really excited about purchasing and reading this book after reading a similar book by another author, but just found this book to not be good enough. I would suggest the book Your Successful Real Estate Career by Kenneth Edwards. I know that when I went to purchase Dirk Zeller's book, I read a review that said the same thing...to purchase Kenneth Edwards instead and they were right. Mr. Zellers book is okay but not as helpful or creatively written as Kenneth Edwards. Just a thought......
I couldn't put it down! November 29, 2008 See You At The Top I have been doing real estate for a few years. However this is the book that I think that all brokers in charge should tell their new agents to read.I also think that even the seasoned agents could learn a thing or two.
Too the point..the rest is up to you! March 3, 2008 John Robertson (TEXAS!) This book lays out *everything* you must do in order to become as successful as possible. The thing I like most is, it is not a get rich quick type of book. The Real Estate field has enough of those books already.
As the market changes drastically (March '08), the plans and guidelines found within this book are even more critical than ever.
The only reason I rated this book as a four is your success is still your responsibility. But this book will definitely help you along your way. Carefully consider getting a copy today!
